Welcome to ECMMA! I am honored to be serving as President of the Board of Directors. Our aim in this newly designed website is to provide resources to expand your impact as a professionally trained early childhood music educator. He received his BA in Music Education and a MA in Child Development/Early Childhood Education, both from CSU Fresno (Fresno State). He began his career teaching K-8 music in Sanger, CA. In this position, he was at three different elementary schools and two K-8 schools, where he taught classroom music, recorders, band, and an indoor drumline.
This text prepares childcare providers to meet the responsibility of musically nurturing young children. After being led to understand the importance of musically nurturing children in this age group, students are taught to nurture children at various stages in early childhood. The unique developmental characteristics of these stages are examined and are the basis upon which activities are. The Early Childhood Commission of the International Society for Music Education was founded in The intent of this Commission is to further the quality of research and scholarship in the field of early childhood music education and, through that, to stimulate thought and the practice of early childhood music throughout the world.
